Uh, it's technically accessible on the first floor but the entryway is pretty tight. If you have a large chair, I'd definitely check it out before dining since it's narrow and there's a right turn near the staircase.
3:00, but most daily specials sell earlier than that.
The food was awesome, the service was great. I shall return 😁
It's for a lot of restaurants. Download the app to your phone then do a search for desoto's Seafood Kitchen
No, I was there yesterday (on a Saturday) just after 3. They said the lunch menu was only available until 3pm.
I'm not sure about the legs. They do have more sides at lunch . I do know they serve Crab claws an they are amazing. Along with the Hawwian ribeye
12/26
House secret blend.
They have no plans to close or sell.
Probably not. Call them
Nice place. Quite a long wait but nice waiting area and they also had some nice live entertainment. The food was good and service was also nice. Not too fancy- enjoyable and relaxed.
They have the best grilled grouper in town! The rice is also good. Great dinner all around at a great price.
Make sure to check in using Yelp to be seated quicker. Bread is really tasty and ranch dressing for your salad is a must! Their grilled Grouper and Blackened flounder was fantastic. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because their kids "fish sticks" are just that...fish sticks that you can make at home for $5.99. We were hoping for fresh fish. Other than that, we will definitely go back.
Great food with good sized portions. Seems like they always have a good crowd. I had the fried flounder which was made perfectly. Try the sweet potato casserole - great flavor and pecans on top. Would have given it 5* but it is starting to show its age. Don't let that stop you from going.
Delightful dinner location in gulf shores, great family atmosphere, friendly service, well executed seating with text alerts and the ability to accommodate large parties quickly. While you wait the kids have the ability to be entertained by a Ballon animal artist outside. Literally everything our group ordered was fantastic.... Crab legs, crab bisque, steam, Caribbean grouper.... Perfectly flavored and with a server who is attentive to your requests and needs. We will be back! (happily from a group of 17)
De Soto's is the best restaurant in Gulf Shores, no question. Me and my family are repeat customers. From the moment you get there and meet the friendly and welcoming host or hostess, to the food and the whole experience, they have their stuff together. Electronic wait list that will call you and text you when your table is ready. You can check where you are on the wait list through the Yelp app. Jennifer, our server was on point. Stuffed shrimp was very good, fresh baked bread to snack on while you wait for your meal. We will be back!
Lots of seating room. Clean & bright venue. Staff was friendly & efficient. Food was delicious. Hush puppies are my favorite appetizer!
Great service. Butterfly shrimp was super fresh and stuffed shrimp was really really good!!
It was the service. Horrible! Only had a salad and fried green tomatoes. We gave up on the waitress to give her our entree order and left.We noticed a fellow waitress making circles around her and giving good service to other customers. Maybe she can get some training from the super waitress.Tried drinking a glass of wine. Gnats and flies liked it as well as I did. Had to keep glass covered and swish them away before taking a drink. Not going back.
Best oysters we had in all of gulf shores. Decent crab legs. However, the crab cakes were totally burnt, dry and disappointing. Service was great, but overall the restaurant could use a deep cleaning. Very awkward set up in women’s restroom.
Food was good and the service was great. Our waiter kept my tea full which is my measure for good service. We ordered the crab and shrimp bisque to start, and it had corn in it, which I have never seen, but I thought it was good. My wife, who loves seafood bisque and is constantly on a quest to find the best, turned her nose up at it once she saw the out corn in it! I had a fried seafood platter and it was fine but the crab fingers were bland. My wife had the broiled seafood platter and said the flounder was excellent.
Some of the best seafood we had in Orange beach! The fresh Red Shrimp and Crab claws boiled were buttery and delicious! I can’t say enough about how yummy the oysters on shell were! Delicious oyster liquor!!!
Food was at a good price. Waitress was ridiculous. Only stopped by my table twice. They automatically charged a 28 dollar gratuity to our check for bad service. Will never go back. Got sick in the bathroom after eating. No thanks.
We eat at Desoto’s quite often and enjoy their daily lunch specials a good bit. When we come down for the week we typically eat there 3- 4 times. Can’t beat the food quality and when we can eat there the kid’s love to watch them feed the puffer fish. My favorite dish is the broiled flounder with green tomatoes and a side salad! Definitely stop by this place on your next beach trip!
De Soto's is very good. Food is homemade. The service here was exceptional, courteous, and professional. Portions are generous. The photo is of Grouper New Orleans style with hush puppies and fried green tomatoes. The sweet potato fries are like dessert. They come with a cinnamon butter dipping sauce. Very, very good.
Superior food and service. Fresh catches of the day, and choices for land lovers. I had the ribeye and gator bites. Got every penny's worth for our son's birthday dinner.
It was a 30 minute wait, despite being told 20 minutes. Not a big deal, that's hard to judge sometimes. Free rolls, I liked the dark one best. Ordered the fettuccine since I don't eat animals. Pretty good. The side dish of broccoli and carrots was better though. Food came out really fast considering how busy they were. Our waitress was ok. Had to specifically ask for refills, but she seemed busy. 1 4 top and 1 6/8 top came in at the same time, so she had her hands full. Food prices are more expensive than what they have listed online. They had a band playing so that was a nice touch.
Great food, great service! Staff was very friendly and accommodating! The catch of the day today was tuna and my husband said is was amazing!!!!! I had the catfish and it was delicious as well! You get nicer size portions for a good price! Recommend!
Best meal and value we had here was the tail on shrimp. They are butterflied gulf shrimp and large in size. Sweet potato casserole was overcooked. The pecans in it had burnt and made them not very good. The artichoke, spinach, and crab dip needs more crab. We shared amongst 4 people and 2 had crab meat in their dip. The stuffed shrimp is cream cheese based stuffing wrapped in bacon. It is good if you like cream cheese. I would not go again.
I've been here a few times on vacation. This is where the locals go for seafood. The food is amazing and the staff is excellent. I got the New Orleans (catfish) and it was the best seafood meal I've ever had. Fresh key lime pie had the whole table in silence as we devoured the delicious dessert. Prices are even reasonable. Highly recommend.
We had the Coconut shrimp and Grouper. Basket of hush puppies!! All so amazing! Fast service, friendly servers.
Our food was amazing! I got the blackened catfish with sweet potatoe casserole and corn fritters, it hit the spot! All 3 were SO delicious and the other people in our group loved what they ordered as well! Will definitely enjoy their food again and I recommend it!
We had a family vacation and this restaurant was highly recommended to us. There were 10 of us, so we decided to go for lunch to miss the crowds. Had the fried crab bites, gator bites, and spinach crab & artichoke dip as appetizers. We loved them. Every one had something different for main course, and no one was disappointed. Dawn was our server and she was on top of everything. Great place to eat in Gulf Shores!
We absolutely loved this place! They told us we would have a 45 minute to an hour wait and that was precisely when we got in. We were waited on immediately and got drinks very quickly. We were able to order food and get it very quickly. The bread before dinner was so soft and fresh. We had the crawfish alfredo....So big and delicious, shrimp scampi linguini...again delicious, and the Bacon wrapped stuffed shrim...seriously so delicious! Great food, service, and prices. We will be back!
Decent food, fair service. We had the blackened catfish, corn fritters, fried green tomatoes, mac n cheese, chicken tenders, all good. The waitress seemed to dislike her job, and offered lackluster service which kinda brought the mood down to 'drab', hence the 3 star review. The shrimp festival posters and old southern dinner club feel were pretty cool tho.
Good good. Moderately priced. We ordered a fried platter and it fed both of us. I had their bushwhacker drunk and it was awesome. Very good service. We will definitely be back.
This was our first time being in Gulf Shores and we picked De Soto's because it was recommended by a local person we met earlier in our stay. My husband had the flounder which was spectacular! I had alligator and my kids had stuffed shrimp. It was amazing food! It all tasted fresh and it wasn't too long of a wait. The only thing that I wasn't impressed with was their waitress. She was a little impatient with us not really knowing what we wanted and she seemed annoyed with us. But other than that it was a great experience!
Their crab legs were amazing 👏 but their soda tasted off and the Caesar salad had a strange taste the dressing itself wasn't to my liking.
Food is fresh, very well seasoned, and large portions. Definitely one of my faves here.
the server was very friendly. I ordered the crab cakes and sweet potato casserole with yellow rice. The potato casserole was OUTSTANDING. My husband ordered fried catfish he said it lacked seasoning we probably should of went with the grilled or blackened. There was lots of seniors when we went...the atmosphere was very quiet, and welcoming. Pricing was $$ out of $$$. May return for the lunch options.
My new favorite place to eat in Gulf Shores. Whole wheat and rye bread were hot and delicious. Fried green tomatoes served as a side were the best! Blackened grouper and sweet potato casserole were great, too.
Terrible service... The food Oysters where not served on ice and where luke warm. The gumbo was very plain" no season" . The basil pesto with shrimp had very small shrimp and way to much oil. All and all the food was terrible. The staff did not seem to care that we didn't eat any food and never once offered to fix the issues. .Will not be going back and would not recommend.
This hole-in-the-wall is my favorite restaurant in the world. Every meal is delicious and served hot. Service is friendly and fast. Sorry locals.. I couldn't help myself.. 😉
Great waitress. The food was ok. My husband likes the fries but said the shrimp on the poboy was fishy. My fried catfish tasted baked fried, the cole slaw was horrible. The cokes were flat. My son enjoy his chicken fingers and fries
This was our 1st restaurant to discover while visiting. Food was great, service was awesome. I would STRONGLY recommend (during tourist season) getting your name on the list NO LATER than 5pm!! We waited an 1hr and 45mins at 6:30pm..everywhere had a wait that long.
The bisque was amazing. And apparently I will eat anything that has been blackened, but the grouper was especially good
Absolutely terrible. Made a reservation, then arrived to have to wait another 30-45 minutes. Seated 8 people at a tiny circle table. We had 3 separate orders, everyone was unpleased with the food. We had to flag down the waitress every time we needed something and she would take 5-10 minutes to get it to us. Each ticket had a 18% tip added. We tried to get it split between us as 1 ticket only had 1 person paying 18%. We also tried to leave no tip but “it was mandatory”. The only good thing is the lovely man outside making balloon animals.
The food was great and super fast. We went during lunch on a Sunday and had our food in no time. Decent prices and kid friendly. Best place we ate at during our trip to gulf shores
Did not get to eat there because we did not check in on Yelp, so don't go there unless you do. Hostess was not kind about that, btw.
It was good from my fried flounder to my hush puppies to the gator bites and the delicious sweet potato casserole. Everything was great. My son got the blackened catfish and Elle was our waitress and she was awesome! We will definitely be back!👍🏼God bless.
EXCELLENT seafood!! Everyone was SUPER friendly and all the locals we've talked to rave about this place. I had the fried seafood platter and it was AWESOME! Highly HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! 💯
I eat here every time I'm in Gulf Shores. I love the food. Its just a part of my beach trip.
We were visiting Gulf Shores and we wanted to find some good local seafood. Decided on this place because of the super high ratings, but either it was a bad time to go or these people have never had seafood before. Everything tasted bland and/or frozen, the steamed crab was overcooked, and the oysters were very small and not shucked properly. The service was very polite, though, and they got everything out quick.
We were seated quickly after being told a 30-45 minute wait. We waited only 20 minutes. They call you which I really like. They had a gentlemen doing balloon animals and won my daughter over. We ate outside in a tent. It wasn't too hot. Margarita was good. Server was attentive. Rolls were good. Food was ok. Don't regret going. Staff was very friendly
A treasure off the beaten path. We had the crabcakes, oysters on the half shell, Caribbean platter and shrimp platter. All were excellent. Really no need for appetizers as they provide great portions. Also they bring out 3 little loaves of bread and butter on the table before anything. Highly recommend!
Absolutely loved it! Great service and delicious food.
We had a party of 8 and the service could not have been better. Our food was all correct and fantastic. We originally came out this way for another restaurant but their wait was very long and we stumbled upon this place. Boy are we glad we did. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good seafood with good service.
We enjoyed a nice family meal her while vacationing in Gulf Shores. The food was amazing, especially my Crawfish Étouffée. Meals are served with a basket of assorted fresh breads and butter. There is plenty of parking on three sides of the building. There was a long line waiting to get in. We were told the wait would be 45 minutes but we were seated within 20 minutes. You can also check your place in line through the Yelp app which was a great feature. Definitely on the list to visit during our next vacation to the area.
One of the best blackened tuna steaks i have had down at gulf shores. Place has a cool vibe and multiple saltwater tanks for the kids to checkout before or after eating. Service is along par with everywhere else in the area. I would definitely recommend this as a spot to try if your looking for good food.
We ordered carry out. All our good was great. Crab cakes. Creole platter. Fried fish platter. Fried shrimp. All was seasoned well.
